I graduated with an Honours Social Work degree in the late 70’s. After graduating, I remained in northern Ontario, working briefly with the Children’s Aid Society and Canada Employment Centre. I then worked for the WSIB for 36 years, the last 24 as a Manager overseeing a variety of specialized departments. One of my roles prior to becoming a manager was to assisted clients who were injured at work, find employment. In 1995 I myself suffered a traumatic incident at work. In 1991, I moved to Toronto and retired in January of 2017 and soon thereafter, moved to Mississauga. I became a member of the BoD to do what I can to help raise awareness about mental illness and the stigma it brings, partly because I myself have received help dealing with personal mental heath issues. To keep busy in retirement, I am president of the Mississauga Steelheads Booster Club. I also love to attend rock concerts, travel and spend time with our Jack Russell Poodle, Finnegan.
